Is David Attenborough the archetypal host of nature documentaries?

Or does he have the archetypal voice of docs.


I was watching a US show when it cut to a sketch of a spoof nature documentary and the host did what I can only describe as a impression of Attenborough.

Obviously his shows must have been shown world wide and in the US the host may have seen them on BBC America, or he could have seen other spoofs by Phython etc (as the US seems to like them also) but it was just strange to see the host/show do this.

I see that Stephen Fry is doing another Nature documentary soon and then a space/planets series.

Is he the new kid on the block for nature docs and voiceovers?
