Is CT scan image efficient to show abdominal infections, polyps, tumors and every other change inside the abdomen area?
Cause I’ve been having this severe pain in the mid section of my abdomen
Just near the belly button and it is also tender if some one tried to push their hand on the spot, the doctor recommended ct to see what is causing it...
What could this pain be? Something wrong with my small intestines?

Beats the heck out of the doctor guessing what's wrong. He doesn't really have many options other than the way, way primitive "exploratory surgery" they did back in the "stone age" of medicine. They actually DID DO that! -cut you open to look and find out what is wrong!

A "CT scan" is just a series of transectional x-rays used to build a "3-D" image of what is going on inside you. It is as good or bad as the person reading the results.

CTs are great diagnostic tools, but they are not miracle workers and you cannot expect them to see every change. Diagnoses are not made by a single test. Your doctor doesn’t know what it is, so neither do we. This is why a CT was recommended – taking a look inside helps a great deal. Trust your doctor he or she knows what they are doing.
