Is coffee good or bad for studying?

I don't know if coffee/tea is helping me study anymore. Sometimes I feel like it's helping me and other times it just makes me foggy. I usually drink coffee just after breakfast or lunch.

Caffeine is a weird drug, because if I eat too much or wrong kind of food beforehand e.g. fatty food and drink coffee straight away, the caffeine gets absorbed too slow and I won't feel any kick at all. So I always have to watch what I eat and wait 1 hour for the food to get digested before drinking coffee. Don't forget about the caffeine withdraw, caffeine crash and multiple bath trips as well.

So what do you guys think? Do you think coffee is helping you study or harming it in the long run? If coffee is helping you, do you have any tips to using coffee effectively for studying? e.g. to avoid withdraw, best time to drink etc.

Thanks

Caffeine is a mild stimulant, and it does wake some folks up in the morning. I couldn't function without it. By the same token, it can keep you awake at night. If that isn't a problem for you, then drink away.
