Is China really ready for Olympics?

High pollution still in Beijing on my visit there last week. ( I was off four weeks work with pollution cough ( as confirmed by three doctors )
Crossing road is still so dangerous as pedestrians have no rights or safe crossing places.
Walking on footpath also dangerous from bikes and cars too.
Subways jammed full
i love china and its people but these important things fo foreigners/tourists concern me.
 
Now that Paris did not win against Beijing for the 2008 Olympics, we can see why Beijing made it as the next hotspot fort the Olympic Games 2008. I think these Olympics were marred by so many problems, first from the Tibetan protestants, then the earthquake and now all that has caused the games to still go on. No matter what the problems would be in China, I think the country has a strong potential in the are of international sporting events such as the Olympics 2008.
