Is cat's claw equally invasive in it's natural environment?

I live in a tropical country. I've been interested in planting a cat's claw vine in a large pot... A small creek runs behind my house and it has a small "forest" composed mainly of ficus trees, some mango trees, and other tropical foliage. I was wondering, if cat's claw would be detrimental to that small ecosistem if it got out of control. Of course I would be willing to trim it and prevent it from growing beyond the confines of its pot and the wall/metal bars I want it to climb. I wanted it mainly for the showy yellow flowers and medicinal properties. We needed a vine to cover an unsightly wall.
