I don't know why it is.. but it seems that people do not like being called ignorant and they don't really know what the word means.
Like my friend and I were having an argument and he didn't know all of the facts he was talking about so I told him that he was very ignorant, and he got more mad.
I guess it's cause "ignorant" is a 'strong word' or something lol.
