Is Bryant Park close to Madison Square Garden?

If so, is it within walking distance from the MSG ? Im going to be going to a charity event being held there and will be taking the train to the city from New Jersey and will be getting of at the MSG. So im wondering if it is close by or a pretty long walk .. Any help would be great :)
