is brunel university any good in social sciences?

i have applied and been conditionally accepted to go to Brunel, Uxbride in London, its my hometown but does anyone know if they have good teaching standards..... the course that i want to do is sociology and social anthropology........... and does anyone know the chances of me getting in through clearing for this course just in case i dont get the grades?????? and one last thing, how busy will the schedueles/ timetables be?
 
Brunel is 21st on the Guardian list of Uni's for Sociology so although it's not the best it is pretty high up the list and in your case has the added advantage of being close to home, saving a lot of expenses.

If you don't get the grades you want then it really is lucky dip, it will depend a lot on who you are competing with and how many places are available.
