Sorry if it has been discussed. Did a search, but both "bpm" and "579" are too short...

Still shows on the Bell site, but the BPM site is gone, and the channel isn't on my "All Chan" line up anymore.

Yup BPM still there, only reason why I have Bell is because they carry it, cheers

  Why regrettably still there? It's a dam hell alot better then that Rap Crap/Hip Hop Much Vibe or that Goof music Much Loud!!

Just the same as when Bell advertised "Full HD", how many people thought they were about to get Full HD.?

Bell's practice of selectively hiding unsubbed channels, in such a random and disordered way is quite strange. They should either hide all the unsubscribed channels, or show *all* of them (with an option to hide them). If a channel appears to be gone, one would logically assume bell is no longer offering the service for subscription.

Some channels did actually go away, iirc, MuchMoreRetro, MuchLoud, Extreme Sports, and I think Euronews went away too. How are we supposed to know channels still exist if bell hides them? :P

Many pirates subscribe to basic Bell package in case their FTA box goes down so they also use Bell's receiver to check the guide since some FTA boxes show only 2hrs of guide. By hiding guide to channels that are not subscribed basically irritates the pirates.

My reading indicates that the Guides on the FTA box's were getting better by the week. Not sure where you got this info from.

Funny, I don't find it "random or disordered" at all. Some channels are hidden because you cannot subscribe to them in your area (east vs west for example). Most are hidden if you do not subscribe to an associated package.

I do agree that "All Channels" should really be "All Channels that you could possibly legitimately subscribe to" though as this would be a good way to check out what you may be missing. However, when a channel is hidden (through guide/menu options) then the guide, search and any related function should skip this channel or at least give an option to include/exclude channels you don't subscribe to or PPV channels.

I'm not sure how this would have any impact on pirates/illegal FTA units as they show "All Channels" in the true sense. Even ones that Bell would never show (out of area, test, etc).

I believe it was more of a marketing decision and also to reduce the amount of data sent to the receiver, particularly the older ones that don't have much memory.

I am pretty sure you can subscribe to Scream, Mystery, MoveTime, in *any* region, but they hide those channels anyway. There is absolutely no rhyme or reason to it. Furthermore, I saw Leafs TV in RED on my guide, but I am in Ottawa, so I cannot subscribe to it.
