I've been quite interested in book translating as a work opportunity. As far as I know, both paper and online publication is becoming a very active industry, and having proper ability in translating them gives companies in this industry an edge in marketability. However, despite the very technical nature of this job (translator), there seems to be a very large lack of information on this line of work, and how well people do in it. Is there a reason why this is so? Is book translator an unpopular job because of its difficulty, or because of its lousy pay, if it is lousy at all? Thanks.
