Is "boiling" vegetables in a microwave the same health wise as steaming or...

...normal boiling? The reason i ask is because when i see vegetables come out the microwave they look dead, the colour is gone they are very limp etc.
Also is steaming better than boiling or is there no difference?
 
Steaming is better than boiling - you lose less of the vitamin/mineral content into the water.
If your microwaved veges are looking limp and dead then you've probably microwaved them for too long.
 
Steaming is the same whether it's in a microwave or in a basket steamer over a pot of boiling water. Boiling is not as good, because it leaches out some of the vitamins in the veggies, which then go into the water. Veggies that come out of the microwave looking dead and limp were cooked too long! You can get the same results in a basket steamer, but of course that's not what you want.
