Is bike riding a form of cardio exercise or just another way to build muscle?

I would really like to start my day off with some cardio and my only option is bike (the still ones in my house). But I dont want to build muscle. im trygin to lose weight hence the reason im doing cardio.

also, how long should i ride for, how fast, and how many times a week?
 
Of course riding a bike is a cardio exercise, that's how I've lost 40 pounds in 5 months. Ride your exercise bike 5 days a week for 1 hour, at least 3 miles per hour and you will lose weight.
