is being obsessed with anime weird?

No... A love of something does not make you weird at all.

I hear that too from some of my friends. They think it is weird & they don't understand why I watch it. I tell them all the time that anime is my life, but they don't understand.

Everybody has some form of obsession. It could be wanting to always be the best, love of a celebrity, etc. But when people hear that 'somebody loves anime' then obsession seems to become a bad thing, but that isn't true at all.

Just point out to your friends that they all love something & are obsessed with it [no exceptions] and they shouldn't be so quick to judge others.
 
There is nothing wrong with an obsession that you ever like.

Your friends have different likes and dislikes.

This isn't anything new. It's all about the kid hype around the teenage period. What else is there to explain? Kids around your age think differently. When one thing is populated, the idea gets followed and copied by many. It's a good and bad thing. Some thinks it's cool while others make fun of those people.

Just do what you like. Does it matter what your friends think when you like anime?
 
that's what they all said because they don't get it. It like when you see someone doing programming all day and you don't get it you would think they're weird too
 
What kind of anime are you obsessing about? There are many types of anime to be obsessed about. From hentai work to more matured brainstorming work.

What about anime are you obsessing about? Characters? Story? Art?

How obsessed are you about anime? Did you buy all the anime related items or you just spend most of your daily life in front of your computer to watch anime?

What type of friends do you have? Cheerful? Serious? Matured? Childish? How old are you and your friends? This will explain why they react to anime. If they are cheerful and childish than they will probably likes cute anime. If they are serious and matured they will probably enjoy serious and dramatic anime.

There's a fine line between obsessing and loving anime. Obsessing just mean you put all your energies, times and money into one particular things and doesn't care about your surrounding (friends and families). If you still care about your friends and families then it's not obsessing. It just mean that Anime is only your hobby and your friends should respect you and your hobby.
 
no, not at all well at least not for me because i was obsessed with bleach and death note before and i was even obsessed with some of the characters
 
My folks say am obsessed with naruto and bleach bacous I don’t mess episode well I haven't see naruto after the cut it off but you get the idea
My frand say that to me too but the don’t understand If you read good book /story do you stop in the middle

first of all theres nothing wrong with anime/manga have you seen the amount of fans out there
second when youre alone it can be the best bud and provide entertainment----you can swoon over the hottest guy squeal at a kiss scene etc!!!!!!!!!!!
thirdly which one of us anime freaks like me don't feel sad when something ends but we can always see or read it again or start something better youre not addicted its just something that you cant leave once you start liking it!
I watch 30 watch animes in 5 months and i'm completely normal so why cant you?????????
