I have a friend in Clearwater, Florida who apparently had his girlfriend shot and killed and is making a big deal of it. I am 50% sure he is lying. Why? I asked him if there will be a news article and he said, "No, there won't. Her family made it clear to the press that they don't want a story on this." I asked about it, asking why the family wouldn't want the public's help, and he goes on to claim "No need to, they already caught him."
This thing seems entirely fishy to me, and I am trying to bust him on it.
Is that possible that the press won't report on something like that if requested? I thought the most that could happen is not having names mentioned. I'd greatly appreciate insight from those in the news business. Thanks!
Someone found my story a bit disconcerting. I should note that my friend has posted on his blog something similar before. Around August of last year, he was apparently meeting up with somebody at Starbucks, who apparently got shot before he arrived. To which is posted on his blog the same day about it.
I just am concerned and fairly unconvinced by his stories. Both are very unlikely, and in both cases, he ended up blogging about it the same day. I just can't help but feel it never happened, you know?
