Is baseball really more of a "thinking man's" game than hockey?

I hear hockey bashers say this all the time. I want to know what some hockey fans think. Extra thanks if you give reasons instead of saying just yes or no.

By far

The pace of Hockey eliminates effective strategies.

There are also allot more chance variables in hockeys.

If you ask me I think you need to think much more in hockey...and faster too. Hockey players need to know where their teammates are all the time, ideally, right? And they can control the puck more than baseball players can control where they hit their balls...if they do so at all. Baseball = snore.

hockey is extremely strategic. Many people that watch think its just run around and shoot. its almost comparable to basketball. they have zones and schemes set up to catch the other team off balance or to create mismatches. and they have to decide what to go with FAST!
