Is AT&T rebooting your phone and draining your batt?

I just got my phone back from Palco/Nokia. According the the letter enclosed the performed the following service:

5469313 SM CONN BTB 2x15F P0.4 Keypad - All keypad related defects including backlight, keytones and mechanical defects.

What? Keypad related defects?! How could that possible be the issue? I'm not optimistic, but I'll follow up later if the service provided any effect.

Wow, awesome. My 95-3 recently started doing the same thing in Seattle. I eventually gave up and ordered a Samsung Captivate to alleviate the pain.

Yeah, othermark - that Captivate is looking very very sweet! - Hey, is the speakerphone as loud as the one on the N95? I LOVE the N95's call volume both on speakerphone, and through the built in (normal) earpiece. Could you please compare the two (Captivate and N95) for sound level? Thanks so much. (And does the GPS on the Captivate work well? - that is the only negative I have heard about the Samsung Galaxy S Captivate on ATT, and I don't know if it's just a rumor. Thanks again.)

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.2; U; Series60/3.1 NokiaE71-2/200.21.118; Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 ) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413)

I think my phone is worse now. It rebooted 5 times yesterday... Even at 3 am.

My mail for exchange stops working every 12 hours and I need to restart the phone. I tried to update it but that didnt help.

I don't know if this is related at all but.....

I have a nokia n96 overseas modle so supposedly no 3G for me with my provider.
In the Maryland, DC, Virginia Area.
Mobile provider is T-Mobile.

Sometimes I get 3g I think this is due to being switched to an at&t network back up type thing dunno. (this is just an aside)

Lately ever since the last firmware update on 7.8.09 to 30.033 my phone has been shutting off and turning back on.

BUT this is only when using GPS software.

Never had a single solitary problem up till this last revision.

I use Amaze GPs and it I would be driving then reboot a short while later.
I even thought maybe it's jut the app. So I turned on Nokias gps map software for the free trial. Same thing it shut off and rebooted.

So either something in the air as I drive into perhaps another network providers area is causing this (because the rebooting is not continous meaning turn it back on it shuts right off. It happens say 3-7 times in an hour and 15 minute drive from MD to West Vriginia usually.) or the lastest firmware has caused some problem with the gps.

It doesn't reboot at any other times than when I use these gps apps. I have not tried to see it if it will reboot while running trapster yet the third gps app on my phone.

Well there it is. could it be AT&T causing this problem out of the blue since my last firmware update I don't know. When did this AT&T issue start up exactly do we know?

This problem has become so chronic for me I was complaining on a daily basis to at&t. I was able to escalate the issue to a managerial level. At that point the agent told me there is nothing they will be able to do until 1st quarter 2010 when the network improvement is scheduled to be finished.

In my opinion it is all their fault. Why else would a phone with a great track record all of a sudden start acting like this?

Nice Job at&t!!

What did you send yours in for?

I just gave up on both ATT and Nokia to get this problem resolved. Anyways I have my phone customized too deeply for me to go and reformat the phone for a new FW. Edge isn't so bad, I turn on 3g when I know I'm in an area where my phone won't reboot or I need something downloaded quickly. So I'm just riding out my N95-3 till the new Android phones come out unlocked with ATT 3g bands (IE Milestone 2 or HTC Desire Z)

Thanks Lofo,
I did the update on my 6650 OTA and it is fine, I'm not in S FL.
I tried checking with NSU on the PC and it did not show any update available.

I don't want to derail this thread, but real quick. PM if you have more questions.
