Is anyone else sick of the circumcision debate?

I'm so sick of this circumcision debate. Some people choose to do it, some don't. Why is it such an issue? I saw a question a few minutes ago where a mother asked about pain medication during the procedure, and I couldn't believe how rude some of the people on here were - they were telling her how horrible it was for her to decide that. She wasn't asking for an opinion - she was asking for advice.

Anyone else sick of this debate? Why can't people simply answer questions regarding circumcision without interjecting their own opinions (unless the question is asking for opinions, of course)?
My question is directed more towards my confusion over why people feel the need to interject their personal beliefs into a question which is asking for facts, not opinions.
You are honestly going to compare circumcision to sexual molestation? Are you insane?
I was molested as a child by my neighbor and I find it disgusting that anyone would compare having a piece of skin removed to being penetrated and sexually abused. Having the foreskin removed is NOTHING like being raped.

You are a sick person, and I pity your child.

I agree. If it was something so horrible they wouldn't do it anymore. It's the parents choice. I agree with you that people should just answer the question asked. If you don't believe in circumcision it is very easy to skip the question. And this goes with all topics not just circumcision. Skip the question if you don't have any advice to share and only have a mean opinion

Haha. I just had a baby boy and the choice to circumcise or not, of course, came up when I was pregnant. I usually make all the decisions when it come to the baby but as far as circumcision went, I told my fiance, "you're the dad and you're a guy so this one is on you".

Also most people are against circumcision because they think the baby feels a lot of pain. Well, I'm sure there are some pain involve but maybe it's not as bad as people think. When my son had it done, he didn't cry at all and even when we changed his diapers the following few days after the surgery, he also didn't seem too bothered. I mean if he was in pain, he would cry, right? But he didn't. So maybe it's not that bad.
