Is anyone else out there not into this Spiderman nonsense?

Maybe it's because Kirsten Dunst annoys me, but Spiderman looks like trash to me, I don't understand the hype at all.

Just like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings - all rubbish as far as I'm concerned.

Anyone that cannot appreciate the epic-ness of the LOTR trilogy or the story in general is a F-R-E-A-K

The Harry Potter stories are some of the most refreshing of the last two decades.

If you don't like stuff, don't watch it. Simple.

I've never been into harry potter or LOTR, but thats just me.

I have the first 2 spiderman movies on DVD though and can't wait to see the 3rd, looks awesome in my opinion

we all have different taste in movies, doesn't mean anyone is strange just because they like or dislike a movie. no one is forcing you to watch it.

There are imo a genre of movies around today that cannot be judged except on their own terms.

I call them special effects movies they are a cross between an action movie and a video game.

Acting plot continuity etc are all secondary but by no means redundant to the success of the movie.

I happen to like true Lies ok I do like Jamie Lee Curtis but I watch it just for the exciting special effects.

Also enjoyed lotr but then I love tha whole sworRAB and sorcery thing.

When you get to the likes of Xmen Spiderman etc then you have reached a kind of state of the art effects movie.

I enjoyed Spiderman 1 thought 2 was pretty average and have no plans to watch 3 except maybe on dvd or tv.

I had never had any interest in Spiderman, never watched a single film until I took my little brother on Saturday. I have to say I reallt enjoyed it and so did he. I'm 23 and he's 8 btw. I guess it's all good and lots of fun for kiRAB, I just enjoyed it for what it was, special effects and a basic story. :)

Am i the only person in the world that thinks Toby Maguire was totaly the wrong actor to cast for the role of Spider man. its him that puts me off. One of the worst castings ever!

The OP's statement is a bit harsh!! Plenty of people disagree with you (me included - I may be nearly 27 but am wetting myself with excitiment waiting for the last HP book to come out ).

I wasn't too fussed with LOTR tbh, although have probably seen all 3 films more than once, but I wouldn't slate anyone that does like them... each to their own and all that :p

Well done to all the whiners that don't seem to get that very simple fact.

Why people feel the need to slag off films that they don't want to watch, never have and never will is beyond me.

I'll-educated people have no business commenting on what they have no clue about.

I was once in a sherlock holmes forum which was great untill someone asked the question.
"Do you think Holmes and watson are gay"
Never have I seen such villification ending with one person threatening to come over with a shotgun and blow his head off.
All for questioning the sexuality of two fictional characters.

Its good to know the same level of debate excists here although murder hasnt been threatened as yet. :(

Toxic Bunny asked a perfectly reasonable question as to if others were of similar mind over Spiderman 3.

In the true spirit of reasoned debate some called a lynch party and tried to make bunny stew.
The fans of the movie did themselves no favours by their attitude.
You could have had a good thread running debating the merits or otherwise of this genre.

Sadly you didnt, well many didnt.
imo this just leaRAB to less posts as people read more and post less in case they get villified by fanatical fans.

Still I am sure we will all survive the experience :)

I'm guessing you hate PotC too - and Harry Potter hype will be taking over the world soon. Heh, a bad year for you then :D

It's interesting that it riles you up so very much you've decided to come and start a fight about it - can you not just, you know, not go and see it and not read the thread(s) about it?

I quite like Spiderman films as I own the first 2 films and have took my young nephew to the cinema to see the third one, like we went to see Cars last year at the cinema.

I started hating Harry Potter after the Philisophers stone and taht is the only film I have ever seen and have on video and vow never to see any other Harry Potter films.

Christ almighty! Hell No!!!!

90% of my films are non-hollywood (that doesnt always mean they are good though, see my lady vengeance thread and I loved LOTR!)

I tried to look for some comedies to lend some one at work and all i could find was "Are we there yet?" (dont ask!) and "Shaun of the Dead" - which my friend found disturbing!!!!
