Is anyone apprehensive about having sex too soon with a new boyfriend?

In the past, I've had sex fairly early on in the relationship and it's always been regrettable when it ends. As well, there are the usual risks we all face: STD's & pregnancy (even with b/ control). The other worry, and the more realistic one is thinking it's not worth the risk until I get to know someone more as friends, see if they're trustworthy on many levels, whether we're compatible and it's not just lust, etc.--all reasonable reasons to wait. The questions is, how long is too long to wait and is the apprehensiveness more of hurt from past times "being used" or is it just a healthy cautionness? I am 35 and divorced.

It's just a healthy cautiousness that you're experiencing. You're not a kid and at your age you know what it is that you want from a relationship. Don't worry that you'll wait too long. Time will reveal to you when the moment is right. You're doing what is best for you. Trust. ';-)
