Is anybody using an SCH-A990 with Cricket?

Cricket is new in San Diego and I don't know anybody with the experience to give me any insight. I have an SCH-A990 that I love despite all of the feature gimping. I would like to bring it with me if I switch from Verizon and want to know what works/doesn't work and anything special that had to be done to get it that way.

Thanks in advance.

Text and talk working flawlessly other not yet. Working on the get the web and mms. Who care's about click. I'm using it now what do you need to know?

Ideally, it would be nice to have everything working. You are right though, I don't care about clicks, so that's not a priority. From what I understand, Verizon phones on Cricket's network function just like you described (ie without web access and MMS). It is a shame to lose MMS, and it would be really nice to have it. If anything, that's what I'd like to have aside from the standard text and talk.

Is anybody actively working on configuring the A990 for Cricket? What utility would someone use to edit the settings, QPST? Simply knowing it isn't a hardware or provisioning issue that prevents MMS from working would give me hope that it can be done. That hope, and some familiarization with the tools and internals, give me the urge to get my hanRAB dirty if/when I switch over.

It might be more easily done when crickets EVDO hits the market specially with sprint phones reason for this is because sprint phones want to stay connected to the data part of the network using powervision they create profiles the problem with this is cricket doesnt allow this obvousily so trying to send mms or log on to wap with sprint phones right now will not work because powervson wants to create a profile before actually enabling the phones services

Ok, since I will no longer be bound by contract, I will definitely switch to Cricket. Now all I need to know is if I need to flash my phone via cable or if it can be programmed OTA without much ado after I give cricket the ESN.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; Google Wireless Transcoder;))

I think it will need to be flashed with a data cable

Anyone ever get MMS to work on one of these? I forgot my wallet at the gym the other night and someone had turned it in. They have a lost and found box and when the lady pulled it out to get my wallet, this phone caught my eye. She says its been almost a month and no one has gone to claim it and I can get it in just 3 more days if no one claims it before then. Im planning on fully flashing it but would just like to know what Im up against. Is it going to be similar to the U740? Thanks for any input.

Ive actually done a few since then and yes mms and web are possible. Use the a990 dll. Youre going to have to search for that and use my a930 tutorial to get it done. Good luck.

i do have a problem now i try to put the prl 1039 on it and it works. The phone reboots and everything but when i look up prl on the phone it has 50800 that means it is still on verizon. Can you please help me out.

Have you made sure you are writing the prl to NAM 1 and that your phone is actually on NAM 1? In other worRAB, are you writing the prl to the NAM you are on? I know Ive done it a few times. Ill overlook to see what NAM the phone is on and just assume its on NAM 1 and when I write the prl and stuff to it and it dont work its usually cuz the phone is on NAM 2.

Thank you again for you help. I did double check to see if I am writing on nam1 and I am. Do you think the problem is when I use spc tool the phone goes to SEARCHING SVC.... mode. Do you think i need to change some settings like going to menu than setting and tools press # or * ???
