Is anime getting worse or has it just stayed the same?

Haha, to this day I still love Love Hina, but that's just my own opinion.

Regardless, I take back my previous statement. I haven't been into enough recent anime lately to be able to make a good judgement on the issue. I just kind of biased it off of a few things I didn't like without being completely fair.

That being said, does anyone have any recent anime that they can suggest for me to go check out?

Not unless you want to be taken seriously. As with anything, a lack of collaborative material means your opinion is much more likely to be dismissed out of hand.

What can I say?I lazy bastard like me who does not take it seriously and not looking forward to be taken seriously likes to criticize animes with not much of accurate and adequate details behind my statements. I just see it as it is.

I think Its getting better. The animation and art is definitely getting better as technology improves and writer's are striving more and more to break the mold and make something unique.

I am not sure how to answer this... In my opinion it is the same as it has been. As much as I agree with FrOsT's comment I do not think it is getting "better." Its just different.

I don't know. A few years ago I would have said that it was improving, but lately I feel like there has been a decline in the quality of anime. It just doesn't move me like it use to. Before I would watch something and be amazed by the story, the animation, and just everything about it. With a lot of new stuff I'm almost bored to tears. I know that I've changed as well and maybe that is the real issue. Not quite sure.

Seeing as how diverse anime is, even if crappy shows are being made (Queen's Blade) there are still good shows (Durarara!!) that continue to remind me why I love anime in the first place.

IMO anime is still about the same, if not better.
Sometimes you just gotta know where to look.
There are tons of new anime out there like High School of the Dead, Shiki, Baccano!!, Durarara, and so much more. It you're sitting back waiting for another DBZ or Kenshin remake, it aint gonna happen so go find some new stuff to watch

i would consider myself a casual anime fan but yeah some of these new shows kinda drag on a bit, i dunno maybe im just more into the action-packed style animes

EDIT: i absolutely love high school of the dead! thats a good new one....

We've gotten to the point where so many anime series are being released, that all the decent original ideas are being all used up.

Try sitting there and coming up with a concept of a new anime. You'll most likely come to one of two realisations:

1. Your idea is very similar to an already released idea
2. No matter how original your idea is, it has sufficient loopholes

That's why you have so many bland and unoriginal concepts coming out. It can take years to develop a really good, well thought concept, but with the demand for new television shows at its highest, you can't afford to spend that long on it.

Yeah, I have to agree with you. Also if you'd like to make an argument for quality of anime, one doesn't have to look much further than the recent Kara no Kyoukai movies, Evangelion movies, and Gundam Unicorn. Has there been a creative lull in anime as of late? Maybe a bit. The mid 2000's (2004-2007ish) had a huge number of fantastic anime so maybe we've just been coming down from that over the past couple of years and it's an issue of relativity? Although I'm not exactly the foremost expert on current anime because half of what I watch nowadays is classics. You should give them a try if you feel current anime is getting dull, erosennin.

Most of the anime nowadays is different because like you, we are all 6-7 years older. I almost think the old stuff is still better then any newer show but most of that is due to our age of outgrowing it. I never like change so I notice it quickly with everything. Most of the adult only anime is just rape and sex with no storyline or anything. Anime was better when you could still stand in your bathrobe and pretend you had magic powers like in the show. Or that one day you might become a skilled ninja and beat people up...not a full time cashier at Target.

Agreed to this post!

OT:
Maybe your just outgrowing your interest in anime!
you'll just have to dig out some deep cave not so famous anime's doesn't really takes much of attention and maybe you'll find them interesting in your own way!

All have a different sense in choosing for something it's just somethings are similar so they got along just fine!
