is an exercise bike good for football (soccer)?

Hiya,

we've just started back at pre-season training and i was wondering if an exercise bike would be good training as a side thing, if that makes sense, as i can't afford to join a gym

umm its helps with endurance but it wont get you to much stronger just help you last longer. try doing squats and similar things to work out your legs to get them stronger. you should work out your abs too because that's your core and your core is where your strength comes from for football(soccer). do crunches and sit ups. trust me
 
An excersize bike is considered more of an endurance for training. But yet, it does help the leg muscles a bit.
Try setting it to high, to the point where you have to pedal harder. It works the thighs.
Also, try doing squats for your legs. Crunches would do great for your abs.
Dont forget to intake alot of water when working out. Water is like a fuel to your muscles wich causes them to grow.
