Is american pop culture really popular in japan?

i heard it is but i never thought it would be somone said "they buy used levis just becasue they were from USA" and ive heard that Paris hilton pures are popular there.


Also, is japanese pop culture really popular in america? im not sure, i know a few who like it, but is it actually popular?
 
Yea they also wear alot of the vintage prep look with vintage sorority jackets or ones that say USA.

In the US, well i dont know...i love Japan but that anime stuff is just for dorks...lets face it.
 
Japanese ppl are very open minded and they embrace cultures from all parts of the world.

Anime is popular, as well as games, electronics, and cars, but Americans are closed minded to real Asians, unless it's stereotypical.
