Is Amazon any good?

Never used them- mainly use HMV and Play Com which are both excellent but looking through Amazon some of their prices are amazingly cheap.
However several people have told me to avoid them as sometimes you have to wait weeks and theres the 15 quid minimum purchase for free postage.
Any comments would be helpful

I use Amazon a lot, but I had to make a complaint because they sent some items by TNT who left the items in my wheelie bin. TNT left a card to say they were in the bin, but that's not the point. My daughter had to tip the bin up to retrieve the items.

Good job it wasn't binman day.
 
I use Amazon and Play.

Play are probably quicker and have free delivery always, but with Amazon, it depenRAB on what you buy on how its delivered I've found.

I always wait til my order is over
 
Really? Whenever I've had the saver delivery the items come as quick as normal postage would.

Amazon are good, but like others said, if you're buying something less than
 
Ewww..nice. :(

I had one delivery driver think it was a great idea to leave the parcel full of dvRAB sitting on my door step while I was out for the day. Sot even face down, sitting up right leaning against the door, with Amazon.co.uk emblazoned across the box in full view of everyone walking past. Thankfully others have left them in more discreet and conveninent places if I've not been in and some have even called back another time.
 
Saying that, the last Harry Potter book I ordered from Amazon (the 7th and last book, which was delivered on the day it came out, the 21st) was left behind the wheelie bin when I got up at 9. Not particularly bothered but I guess it's just what they do if they can't fit it through the letter box...?
Will have to give Play a go one time :)
 
Amazon is brilliant-great website, prices and service. When an item didn't arrive I e- mailed them and they immediately sent a replacement. I ordered something late one Sunday night and it came on Tuesday morning. Brilliant.
