Spoilers, but if you havent seen this movie by now, youre a fucking douche and deserved to be spoiled.















Rachel Dawes just got blown to bits and he had no emotion for her what so ever. Hell he even had the balls to cook up breakfast for Wayne at his penthouse and tell Wayne to his face that she was just a casualty.
 
i wonder why he burned the letter. I know she was going to be with harvey but what would it had done to wayne had he known? did he burn it because he would know that wayne would stop being batman?
 
i think he was also protecting bruce. he already has a lot of problems, what with gotham riding on his shoulders and his parent's death. rachel gave him hope, and i think that that was part of the fuel for keeping him going.
 
Aflred just wants to live the billionaire life and fuck all this batman shit, he's far and away the best character in the movies and Michael Caine > *
 
Bruce thought she would've picked him. The only way he'll ever know otherwise now is if he reads the letter, which would break his heart, because he loves her. Ignorance is bliss.
 
I read some interview about Michael Caine creating his own back story for Alfred where he was an old SAS typed guy who saved Bruce's dad out in the congo one time or something and thats how they met and he became their butler. So that's why he plays him like a tough british son of a bitch.
 
Alfred DID used to be a GI medic, which is why he tends to Batman's wounds

AND he used to be a mechanic, so he can fix all of their cars
