Ok, here's my question. I'm going to Japan in a few days time, and I want to buy a few electronics such as: A mac book pro (with customizations), maybe a new video camera, and a few video game consoles and games. I heard from a friend (who is Japanese) and he said that Akihabara is very cheap compared to other asian countries like: Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. I live in Malaysia, and i've have remembered the price and I'm going to look in Akihabara. All I want to know, is to all of your opinion's what do you think about the price of electronics in Akihabara. And if there's is anything which you would like to add, such as: Language for these items, or specification, or basically anything important please let me know.

No, I went to a softbank and electronics store and everything is more expensive. iPod touch 2g 8 gig here=$230 Japan= $290-320.
But anyways do enjoy the 7 stories in each electronics store :)

I actually bought a toshiba laptop last week there.
It cost around 25000Yen, It has 40GB HDD, dvd-rom, Windows XP, wifi. Obviously you will pay more for an OS other than a japanese OS twice as much for a Western keyboard set up.

It serves my needs and is relatively light. However, if you need replacement motherboards, power packs, etc, these will also need to be japanese due to the voltage & ampere.

Game consoles on the other hand maybe the same as yours in malaysia if not more expensive. The same can be said of the games too.
