I am in a community colleges, studying to transfer. My major is economics, and I have heard that Accounting is useful for better understanding of econ. However, it is neither under my GE nor under my major requirements, so taking that class would be just for fun. How useful is it for economists to understand accounting?

I took ACCT this semester, and to be honest, ACCT is nothing like ECON... while ECON is all about theories and such things... ACCT is all about journalising transactions of a business... it's like learning a whole new language!

ACCT is mostly about how to report transactions in a company, so that the people who need to make decisions about the business, can make those decisions easily with the financial statements by their sides!
