Is a Slightly Low Calculated Globulin Level in Blood Panel Okay?

Hi, When I called my nurse practitioners office, I was told that my annual blood panel had come back normal, but when I received the results from Quest Labs, I noticed that my calculated globulin level is slightly below their normal range. My globulin level is 2.1 when the low end of the lab's range is 2.2. (I don't understand the relationship, but if my albumin measurement says anything important in relationship to globulin, it is in the normal range at 4.3). The blood panel is otherwise all within normal ranges. Anyone who knows about this kind of thing, I'd appreciate your comments on this. Thanks.

I was just wondering what response you received from your question about your globulin level because I have the same question. My globulin level was 1.9, a little low, too. And my albumin level was 5.0 - normal range and my A/G ratio is 2.6 - high. I would like to know what this means but I don't know where to ask? Thanks, Dukes

Why not just ask your doctor? I would think that if it was a huge concern, you would have been contacted by your doctor about it. But if it concerns you that much, I would just call your doctor's office and ask.
