Is a screen protector for my HTC Incredible necessary?

I just had a horrifying experience trying to install a screen protector on my new HTC Incredible. Well, two, actually, but one wouldn't even come off of the plastic shipped with it.

But to get to the point, I wanted to know if any other owners of the HTC Droid Incredible think that a screen protector is necessary for the device. I always keep it in a pocket seperate of any keys or other things, and have a Seidio Innocase for it as well.

Is it worth spending another $10-15 for more screen protectors and trying to apply it right? Or will I be fine without one, 'long as I keep it away from keys and other potentially sharp objects?
 
Yes, since the low amount of HTC Incredible devices are forcing thousands of Incredible users to get angry, you might want a screen protector. If your phone gets a crack & the touch screen turns useless, then you would be on the waiting list to get a HTC Incredible in, early August.
 
I would definitely recommend screen protectors for any touch screen phone, just because you never know what will happen.. They're pretty easy to put on, so have them put it on for you at the store if you're having trouble..
