Is a punch in the neck in fair game in the sport of boxing?

isn't the neck a weakpoint?
you can kill someone punching them in the face but I know the neck is very vulnerable
well when you punch someone in the chin it's very close to the neck and I seen a boxer punch someone on the chin and it does come in contact with the neck
i haven't seen anywhere that says punching in the neck is illegal
I heard it's illegal to punch on the back of the neck but how about on the front
 
If you get punched in the neck I guarantee that you would say that it has to be illegal.

When we were kids some friends and I were playing pro-wrestling and somebody gave me a clothesline. I'm sure you know what that is. HURT A LOT MORE THAN I EXPECTED!
 
i dont really know the rules to boxing, but i would think it is illegal. a punch to the neck would be hard to do without killing the other person, getting punched in the throat can cause a persons throat to collapse and suffocate.
