Is a Pasta Buffet okay for a wedding reception?

I am getting married in September and was thinking of having a pasta buffet (chicken alfredo, baked ziti, lasagna, shrimp pasta), bread sticks, & salad. With of course drinks and & liquor being served. Do I need to add a meat like chicken breast or something like that to the meal?

Working in the industry we served 2 starches, 2 vegetables and 2 meats along with salad and bread.

You have all starch, and while it sounds good, and is probably real easy on your budget, you might want to add at least a chicken breast for those that want to by-pass all the starch.

Congrats.

Good luck.

I think it sounds great!
Something you must realize, it is YOUR wedding. If people are hungry, they will eat what you have available. You have a wide variety of pastas to chose from so it is likely that everyone will find something that they like.
You don't need to add meat if you don't want to. But make sure in your pasta you have a vegetarian selection as it is a moral objection for them to eat meat. I have never heard of a moral objection to pasta and that is why I don't feel it is necessary to add it just because some people would prefer to eat pricier dishes.
Good luck!
