Is a honda Rebel replica worth anything, should I buy one for $1300?

I saw a honda rebel replica on craigslist and really want to buy it. Although I am a little scared that it is worth nothing, does anyone have any experiance with replica motorbikes??
details: like new 250cc cruiser , interchangeable Honda parts. Asking only $1300 OBO. Clean title. Two cylinder twin air cooled, 4 stroke engine with double exhaust. 3.5 gal fuel tank. Five gears with VISUAL GEAR INDICATOR on top of gas tank (it shows what gear you are in!)
Immaculate, clean condition without a scratch. Black color and loaded with chrome.
Side kick stand and center stand, rear sissy bar back rest. Electric start with two ignition keys.
Owner's manual and factory tool kit included. It has an additional set of front head lights.
Light aluminum alloy wheels with new tires, front disc brake and rear drum brake. Garage kept, single owner, never dropped or damaged. Hydraulic front brake and cable driven clutch control. Includes speedometer and reset trip odometer. Weighs 360 lbs.

It is worth less than $1300, as that is what the seller is willing to take.

"Like New" Honda Rebel 250's go for double that. A 20-year-old Honda Rebel will bring $1300. Ya gotta ask yourself .... if a real Honda sells for more than double, *why* is this guy selling so cheap?

"Clean Title" is not "current registration" -- is the bike registered and legal to ride? That would be the first thing I would check. You really do not want to deal with the DMV trying to convince them that the bike is EPA and DOT approved.
 
Be careful.

Often times these "Honda replicas" aren't actually fully interchangeable w/ Honda parts.

Furthermore, they are not built as well as a Honda. The Chinese companies that build them often skimp on components newbies won't look to closely at when purchasing (usually the brakes are much lower quality than you'll find on a Japanese bike of a similar class).

Keep in mind, retail blows on Chinese bikes.

If I were you, I'd keep searching around craigslist and wait for a deal to pop up on a Honda Rebel 250, Yamaha V-Star 250, or a Suzuki TU250.
 
Why not start by calling your insurance company and see how much that will cost you. It may be more than you have to spare!
 
those bikes can NOT be registered in California.
check the law where you live..BTW $1300 is too much for that bike.
it is NOT a rebel which is a very good bike

my son just bought a real 250 rebel one year old with 4,000 miles for $900..don't get riped off
