I agreed to take an apartment from a privately owned building and another tenant showed me the apartment who told me that he shows apartments for the owner since he's too busy.
I told him I would give him a deposit for it but needed a receipt. A previous landlord hand wrote receipts for rent all the time for me and my significant other and assured us it was completely legal and would stand in a court of law.
The receipt says:
