for example, you could write a paragraph with perfect punctuation and all that. then split it into lines so it makes a stanza. then it would be a free verse poem. BUT, my question is, do u have to put the punctuation where it normally would be in the "paragraph" or can it be however u want it to?

The dog went to sleep. Then he ate some food.
