Is a fish a pet. Yes or No?

My mum is saying that fish aren't pets because you don't interact with them. This doesn't mean they aren't a pet.
 
Of course they are! Its a responsibility to take care of them. Feeding, water changes, tank cleanings. You cant take them out for a walk of course but they are as much of a pet as a dog or cat is. If cared for properly they will bring you years of relaxing time and happiness :D
 
Yes. I have a pet beta fish named Sushi. He has a good personality which amazes me because I didn't think fish could be like that. He will let you pet him without jumping.. and he likes when you put a dot of food on your finger and let him jump up and get it. (it's crazy)

He also will watch me when I watch tv... he's really cool lol
