property with out cause? A friend and I were looking at my deceased aunts house which is going up for sheriff's sell soon at 10pm one night when a neighbor called the police who came to the house. When they pulled up my friend and I walked out to the drive way where we explained to the officers that it was my aunts home and that my friend was interested in buying. One of the officers searched my buddy's car through the windows with his flash light. The other officer asked him to check to see if there was any sign we tried to get into the house. After checking and finding no sign we tried to get in he went back to searching the inside of the car with his flash light through the windows then asked what was in a on the floor in the front seat. I responded nothing crazy just some game and other crap I took to a friends earlier. He then said he could see marijuana in the bag i told him there was none so he was mistaken he then asked if he could search it and I said no. he said he had probable cause and went into to car and search the bag where he found shrooms. Is this not illegal search and seizures? What grounds did he have to search the the car without my friends approval?

You lied to him - told him something that he could see was not true. That gave him probable cause. Too bad. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
