is a 2008 toyota avalon good car?

have a 3 yearold and a 10 month old son, and a girlfriend. Toyota is selling a a 2008 Toyota Avalon Touring for 22,996.. is this a good car for my family... it has a lot of nice features.. My girlfriends brother thinks it's a terrible deal.. if so why isnt toyota good and ther values are great..
 
Older avalons and other toyota vehicles are great cars, but toyota's quality has slipped in the past couple of years. GM has some great deals right now. Look at a chevy impala or if you want to save money on gas a ford fusion. I would recommend the accord as well.
