I am 16 and just got my motor cycle license, and now i want to get a bike that is sporty and will get me to and from school, would a 2008-09 Kawasaki Ninja 250R be good for me?? Anyone own one or tried one out????????/

If you just have got to go with the Sport bike it might be worth it to you to hold out for a 250r that comes back from someone wanting to "upscale" a bit. However that might be a problem since the Ninja has quite the following.
I was thinking a bike for a 16yr old would be a dual purpose. That way you can have some fun off the road as well as on it. Just a thought.

The Ninja 250R is probably the best choice for a sportbike for a beginning 16 year old rider.
The most important reasons is cost. Lower cost for the price of the bike. Lower cost for insurance. Lower cost for fuel use.

Because of these reasons, the 250R is one of the most popular bikes and often very hard to find at a dealer, so if you can get one now, do so or put an order out for one.

They're great bikes for sure. Pretty bulletproof.
You can't beat them for around town. They're even pretty decent on the freeway.
Good choice.

They are good bike's but the price for them right now is way not cheap. At a local dealer the price for one is upwards of 4,200$ and are on a 3 month back order. So if you can find a place that sells them for MSRP then get it =)
