Is a 2002 ford explorer with a number of engine upgrades a good buy?

General rule of thumb, do not buy any vehicle that has had mods. 9 times out of 10 they have dogged the hell out of it. Also it does affect the quality of the vehicle. 100k on Ford Explorer, that's just bad. Secondly the person who is selling it is severely overcharging. Go on
www.kbb.com punch in the info you know on the SUV and it will tell you the price you should be paying. Also you need to find out if he has service records to show the maintence. If he can't show any records I would walk away. At that high of mileage and no records to show for maintence you could be walking into a serious headache of problems. I.E timing chain, water pump, starter, altenator, brakes (Which reminds me if he didn't upgrade the brakes with 22's its a rear ending waiting to happen) those rims are heavy and stock brakes won't cut it. If you want to mod it I would recommend you do the mods yourself. Go buy a stock one
