Hello I have a guy wanting me to trade a 1993 Dodge Ram 4x4 short bed single cab with a recent tune up for a gaming laptop with a new screen and battery. Good deal or bad deal?

I also was wandering if these are good trucks. Like how do they run? Do they get good power? Are they ok for Driving long trips? Are they ok for driving on the highway? Any info will help. let me know any thing you know about them. My family doesn't want to take the deal because they think it's a old piece of junk however I love these body style dodges and I'm also tired of driving a Dodge Caravan. So let me know.

94 was a real good year for dodge ram i they had a lot less electronics on it to go bad,and the 318 is an excellent engine, they did have problems with the early ones leaking from the timing covers in the upper corners, they would leak anti freeze out of them and a lot of people wouldn't notice it until it was to late and they had ran the engine hot, other than that they are good trucks, don't make the trade tough because i say its good truck drive it for your self,if it has over 150 thousand miles on it,it will need a timing chain and gears out in it if it hasn't already had it done, good luck.

Keep your laptop. The 318 is a good motor, however the pre-94 Dodge trucks are junk. The frame is not up to snuff and is prone to breaking in half generally leaving your drivetrain (the only good thing about them) sitting in the middle of the road. Most importantly you have to be able to endure the rattletrap interior as you drive down the road.
