Just curious but typically how long does a chain last? Obviously taking care of it will help but I am looking for an average. I am thinking of doing the conversion but I have 4600 miles on my bike and am thinking if I should just wait until I need a new chain.

I have put over 9,000 on a chain and it was still in good shape when I sold the bike..... I guess it depends on how well you take care of it and keep it lubed.
