it is a 1999 acura tl with 150,000 miles on it, but its only for $1,500.... is it a good deal? how long is it expected to last?

note: i do not know the maintenance history...

150,000 is half wore out most any car can drive into the 400,000 if care is giving.. any time your buying used you shoul d check for signs lack of care such as oil leaks of any kind uneven tire wear have a look at what the motor looks like is it dry or Oliy wil do you well to follow a few of these steps neve rlook so much at the miles but for signs lack of care means so much more... you can find a almost new car thats been at the drag strip every weekend and be wore out and then find one that was well cared for that has 300,000 miles and out last it dont need to know the history you can tell that by the signs heres a few links that will help you many yrs always do a walk a round looking for dents look under it for wet spots check the tail pipe should be dry not black check tires for uneven wear open hood check all fluids any low pass see any wet spots pass drive it 30 minutes checking every button and switch how it takes of and braking how it steers and if you ever have a question best to walk... id say offer 1200 or walk

I think it is worth it, but offer $900 and see if you can get the person to come down. It will most likely last to well over 200,000 with a few minor repairs. Tell the owner it is a high mileage car and you would be taking a chance buying it. If the owner says no, leave your number and see if he or she calls you back. You should not buy a car the same day that you see it.

Awesome deal, in fact I'd say it's too awesome to be true. I have a strong feeling the owner either knows about existing damage or knows something is about to go on it. Remember that Hondas have the lowest depreciation of all vehicles.
