My clutch went out on me on my 2004 Toyota Matrix, and I had it towed to a mechanic that a couple of acquaintances gave me a reference for... The mechanic says it will take 8-9 hours of work, which will cost $800-900 in labor alone, and he says the final price to replace the clutch will be just over $1400 altogether-- around $1500 with tax. Is this right? Is this a normal price? I live in Hawaii, so does that mean it might cost more? Thank you.
