is £7000 a fair deal for a 2yr old (07 plate) ford focus 1.8 diesel ?

my grandparents payed £16,995 for this car 2 yrs ago, now she is wanting to sell it, as sadly my grandad passed away recently. she has only been offered £7000 at the ford garage.....should she take this offer or sell it privately???
 
For a trade in that sounds like a good deal. If you are trying to sell the car without part-exchange that is rather poor as they could sell it for around £9,000. I would expect about £8,000 private sale, but it comes down to if you want the fuss. I assume it is low miles. There are plenty of 07 focuses for around 7k from car supermarkets.
 
I imagine it is a relatively low mileage car which has been looked after but even so. seven grand is a good price for it. You can always try to sell privately but then you cost of the advertising may make this not worthwhile.
