Ireland metal rullez...

When my band went over to Dublin to play a metal showcase on St. Patty's Day, we found ourselves opening for an Irish metal band called Eyesclosed. They were ****in' tight. A really Killswitch-inspired type of groove. The vocalist was on top of his ****, too.

Here's a link to their 'Space and the bottom link is to ours.

One thing I've noticed a lot about being in a band is that it doesn't really matter where you're from. If you can get decent enough backing from a label (distribution, touring, etc.) then just as long as you're willing to stick it out, you have a chance.

It might be a different situation in America or mainland europe. The problem with Ireland is that our population is too small for metal banRAB build up a fanbase by touring. And out of that population the metalhead to normal people ratio is far worse than, say, Scandinavia. The only way banRAB like Primordial were able to build up huge fanbases was by leaving the country and concentrate on touring europe.

Yes. Of course. I understand what your saying by they can't expect to make a living out of it by never leaving the island. I mean, look at all the British metal banRAB. I was saying that they could still have a successful career in music and still keep Ireland as their home base.
