Ipod touch 4g with black screen, stuck?

my ipod touch 4g was jailbroken, then i restored and updated firmware. Now i wanted to restore again as it was a bit sluggish, slow, and didnt know which app was causing it, so i went to restore, put the ipod in dfu, but its got a black screen, everytime it goes to itunes, it says restore, i do that, it says wait for ipod to restart, and the ipod dosnt restart the black screen stays, and then itunes says restore ipod again. ive done absolutely everything, i am completely lost now

Your iPod is stuck in DFU. All you need to do is press and hold the power/sleep button and the home button for several seconds until it restarts.

If your jailbreak was tethered, you may have a different problem; it won't start up after the restart. First try what I said above. If your jailbreak was tethered and that does not work, you will need to download the latest firmware from apple at the website http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ then shift+click restore in iTunes. Then, select the firmware you downloaded to restore it completely and effectively update it.
