Hi,

Following another thread, I wanted to request a little bit more information from the community. I have narrowed down my criteria such that I really would like the following features:IPOD-like MP3 Player (I love my music)High Quality Camera (I take lots of pics)Triband/Quadband is a must as I travel a lot.Good battery life.
So far, my favorite phone was the D900, but battery life etc. makes it not a feasible choice. I also tried the N73 but I did not like the interface and it was actually quite laggy (there were delays in loading the menus). The best I tried was the SE K800i in terms of interface, it was fun and easy to use. The camera was "alright", when I snapped a few pics, the autofocus did not always work and some came out blurry.

MP3??
In all cases, i could not try the MP3 player out (no headphones provided). Further, the MP3 interface on them all sucked :/ Can anyone comment on which phones will have the highest quality sound? (is it comparable to an IPOD?)

N91??
Saw this one in a shop window yesterday when it was closed. What are your thoughts on this phone? 2Mpx camera is weak but the MP3 interface seems pretty cool. Pretty hefty price tag at 700 EUROs but if it's awesome, then ok.

god this is difficult. Now also considering the SE 810i... How about the 830i (I guess it's not out yet). Was just at the vodaphone store, because of the battery issue & size, he made a good case against the nokia N91.

I do like the look and feel of the 810i.

Reading these forums, there is a lot of buzz also about the SE 790a (What's the difference between 790a and K800i? 790a is hard to find here in Germany).

My advice is get the K790a if you stay in North America a lot as you may need both the 850 and 1900MHz bands. If you get the K800i, you'll only have the 1900MHz I believe, however the K800i is great for 3G i.e. faster data speed and video calls if you use them. Voice quality is also marginally clearer. K800i is best if you only travel to North America occasionally. If you only travel within big cities, then you may be able to make-do with a K800i. If you're traveling to distant or far away places.... K790a would serve you better.

K790a is a North American model by the way..... You'll find it most easily in North America.

I'm traveling everywhere. Europe, North America, Australia, Middle East, Asia, and Africa. I really need a true world access phone.

Thanks for the clarification on the difference between 790 and 800. I'm now thinking just to go with the 810i unless someone gives a better option before the end of the day.

I've had the w800i for awhile now and the mp3 quality is rock solid. The earphones that come with it are pretty good (way better than iPod earbuds), but when I use my own higher quality phones with it, the sound is on par with my iPod using the same phones. The w810i is the US version of the w800i (similar to how the k790a is a US phone), so the quality should be the same. It's a great, solid phone, mp3 player and cameraphone ... but does feel a little dated UI and display-wise as compared to the newest stuff out there.

The w850i looks to have a very snazzy walkman UI, but it's quite expensive. As does the w950 ... but no cameraphone, and that will be priced sky-high when it first comes out.

I would just get the W810i. Quad Band ensures that you will be properly equipped to take calls any where in the world of GSM. Also the 2.0MP camera is great for quick snap shots. Plus you can put up to 4GBs in it right now which it 4 times as much as the highest available M2 for the K790/K800.

w810i is a great phone. Mine died, and I got the k790a. The k790 is an all around better phone, but you need the quadband, so get the w810i.

get the W810i...it offers a reasonable camera, excellent mp3 player with large expansion possiblities, has good reception and most importantly...its quadband. I wouldn't consider the K790/K800 since its triband so it will work poorly if you are moving around a lot.

i have the n91 myself... the music is great on the phone..too bad the regular one doesnt support A2DP..waitin for the black 8gb music edition to come out...reception is decent... size is a lil big on avg...but i think its a great phone
