I have an iPhone on the AT&T network and would like to switch to a more affordable carrier. I would like to know more about unlocking my phone so that I can use it on another network. How do I do this? Is T-Mobile my only other option? What is the consensus with iPhones on the T-Mobile (or other non-AT&T) network? Does it function properly? Does GPS work? What T-Mobile plan to use? Is this legal? I'm in Los Angeles and need my phone to operate well throughout the US. 3G and GPS must work.
