Iphone restore?

I have iphone 3G 3.0(7A341) 04.26.08.
The wifi is not working...i have tryed to restore it on version 4.0 but itunes gives me erorr when veryfing restore with apple.
What can i do?I need to jailbrake it and unlock it after restore but i cant restore it on version that can be unlocked!
 
What Error Number did you get?
As Far As I know, If you have problem with WIFI, there is no solution to fix it with update firmware. try to check your hardware as possible.
I have update to 4.0 4.0.1 many time there is no problem, the problem is downgrade to 3.X. I get some eorror code 29, but i just ignore it as my iphone in recovery mod. so i just use recoboot to get it back into normal status and then I jailbreak it and unlock.
 
Restore it to 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 and jailbreak it with spirit but make sure you activate it in itunes first. then unlock it. you can also try resetting network in general settings. that may fix the wifi problem
