iPhone or HTC Inspire

Was thinking of moving to the iPhone 4 once the new one comes out because I can afford the $15 data plan. I would also like to consider the HTC Inspire 4G. If you have a better idea, please tell me what you think. I will be using data mainly on wi-fi. They seem to be fairly evenly matched but was thinking a 4g phone would be better. Thanks

I would get an iPhone. You have an iPod built in, and access to tons of apps, and jailbreaking. I have had an android phone, and now have an iPhone, and the iPhone knocks the android out of the park.

Really do appreciate it, thanks. I've been keeping up with androidforums.com and a few apple/mac sites. If the iphone gets talk to text, and in all likely hood even if it doesn't, I think the iPhone is the phone for me. Now comes AT&T or Verizon. Hmmmmmmm. Thanks a gain!:2thumbs:

Now we got them locally for me to see it, I'll take the Inspire over the iPhone 4 anytime, but I might suggest you wait for the iPhone 5 and compare it with the Galaxy S2.

And that was the adroid phone I was seriously looking at getting. No BS. I've got a little bit of time so that's a good idea. When is it coming out, or has it already?

If I were you, I would get an iPhone , and then jailbreak it. I have an unlimited data plan on my iPhone 3GS, so I jailbroke it, and got an app called PDAnet. It allows you to let you use your iPhone for internet tethering, and it hides it from you carrier :hehehe: No more stupidly expensive tethering charges! Not to mention you can get GPS, etc. for free. The phone is really user friendly, and I am simply in love with mine!

You meant the Galaxy S2? Yeah, its some serious shiztbit. Like I mean like wow. The plans of the S2 coming to the US carriers are now coming into focus, though we seem to have one picture of a possible AT&T heading variant. The difference of the US versions vs. the international generic version is the the US versions appear to have four buttons like a standard Android device, while the international version uses the three button arrangement similar to all their other international phones.

If you want to tether, aka mobile wifi hotspot, the support is built right into the OS. No need to jailbreak or anything like that.

Yesterday my bro went and got an S2 himself.

As for tethering, I'm sorry but AT&T is now clamping down on tetherers particularly on the iPHone side. But mind you the net would also include Android users too.

Yes, I did. I will be keeping a close eye on it but am seriously thinking of seeing whether I get a signal at my house with Verizon but AT&T has been good to us so we'll see. Probably will stay with them but who knows.

Don't blame them really. One of the key points is $$$, especially the data plan and the possibility of going to an un-advertised 550 minute plan after I'd been with them for a while. They don't do that anymore as told to me today. While texting would be $5 cheaper/line, data is more. So, it's looking like AT&T but is it going to be now, the Galaxy SII or the iPhone. I know the thread says Inspire but right now, unless an overwhelming case can be made for the Inspire over the SGSII or iPhone, I'll have to put it on the back burner for now.

The Inspire is a very nice HTC-Android, but the tech is nearly a year old. The cutting edge of HTC is best represented right now in the US by the Sensation and MyTouch 4G Slide in T-Mobile right now. Having said that, their appears to be rumors of an HTC "Holiday" headed for AT&T that may have the specs of the Sensation, with a bigger screen, at 4.5" and possibly LTE.

I would get the Infuse over the Inspire just because its capable of higher network speeds. I would not consider the current iPhone. Its vastly outdated. Its only capable of HSPA 7.2, the Inspire can take advantage of the faster AT&T network speeds.

I would say the Evo 3D would be their top of the line phone right now.

The Atrix would be the fastest processor phone ATT has right now unfortunately

Pre-Gingerbread-Ninjablur update, I would be hesitant to recommend the Motorola Atrix. Now that the update is out, I would give it a thumbs up. Gingerbread + dual core just screams.

EVO 3D is a very nice phone. But everything I have heard of the Galaxy S2, its faster in the user experience, the browser, the graphics, and in the benchmarks.

I have the SGSII European version, also the Infuse, EVO 3D, HTC Thunderbolt and many more including iPhone lol. The SGSII is good, but not what its cracked up to be. The screen and processor are good. But I have had countless number of bugs, the most obvious one is POOR radio performance.

Speeds are very very slow compared to my Infuse, funny thing is the SGS uses an Infenion baseband, same as the iPhone......... lol

I wouldn't recommend it, but it's all personal.
